This archive started with the photos Ann took in her trip around the world, 1983-84. The Research Board was moving out of 220 East 61st Street, and found two Kodak slide carousels containing 640 slides from the thousands she shot during that trip. We had a new scanner with slide-scanning apparatus, so I scanned them in the morning while Ann was still asleep. In those each slide took a couple of minutes to scan.
After that, I finally had Mama send me all her photos, with dates and names, with which I created the core of the Starr/McCurley archive.
